Review: Moon Boots by Lobo

The strain Moon Bow ranks near the top of my list when it comes to favorites. I perk up anytime I hear about the strain or its progeny. Lobo’s recent flower release included the Moon Bow cross, Moon Boots. I stopped into Parkway Dispensary in Tilton and picked up an eighth to review.

Moon Boots is a hybrid cross of Moon Bow and White Tahoe Cookies. This batch of flower tested at 0.81% THC, 23.57% THCa, and 25.41% total cannabinoids.

Two larger flowers with three smaller pieces of closely trimmed, smooth flowers looked uniformly lime green from the outset but revealed darker purple flecks of former sugar leaf, thin fire orange hairs, and a glassy trichome layer that seemed to glitter under a bright light. Despite the smooth, dense appearance, these flowers were spongy with a lively bounceback and a slightly sticky feel.

The scent in the jar was a dense blend of fresh floral honey, figs, orange, and bergamot notes elevated by a warmer combination of cloves, roasting barbeque, peanut butter, sandalwood, and licorice providing the body and finish. The sweeter top-end notes provided the entirety of the flavor profile as sweet notes of honey, orange, and figs stuck to the palate for several minutes after a bowl.

Moon Boots worked as an almost instantaneous mood booster, putting a smile on my face and increasing my resilience to mental stressors. Positive and optimistic but very relaxed, my motivation was heavily reduced. Initially a wave of euphoria sent tingles throughout my body, but as the peak crested, a combination of pressure and muscle relaxation drove home the “chilled out” feeling offered by the mental shift. Overall, Moon Boots offered a unique flavor profile alongside a positive but unmotivated buzz that I enjoyed most as a nightcap.
