Review: Roll Baby Roll and Going Down Oral Elixir Infused Oils by ooYes
Cannabis and intimacy have been linked for thousands of years, but the list of Illinois products targeting the bedroom has been limited. The new label, ooYes, has jumped in headfirst through a partnership with Nature’s Grace and Wellness, releasing a pair of infused body oils, Roll Baby Roll, and Going Down Oral Elixir. I recently stopped at Trinity on University and picked up one of each to review.
ooYes Roll Baby Roll was a roll-on oil with 50mg of THC and 50mg of CBD per package. The ingredients were MCT oil, primrose oil, rosemary extract, cannabis oil, and orange cream terpenes. ooYes Going Down Oral Elixir was an infused oil with 50mg of THC. The ingredients were MCT oil, lecithin, rosemary extract. cannabis oil, and orange cream terpenes.
Each bottle was a small-dropper style at the bottom with a metal-ball roll on attachment on the Roll Baby Roll and a standard dropper on the Going Down Oral Elixir. The oil inside both were a lightly colored amber, almost clear, that disappeared almost completely when applied directly to skin. Free flowing without any stickiness, the consistency of the coconut-oil base wasn’t altered at all.
The flavor of the oral elixir was a bright and natural orange-peel note complete with a hint of peel-style bitterness on the finish. The flavor didn’t linger at all, disappearing from the palate almost immediately. The Roll Baby Roll was meant for skin application more than flavor but still carried a pleasing herbal aroma (and flavor) of rosemary, basil, thyme, and fresh leafy chlorophyll at the finish. Despite the strong flavors and aromas, neither oil left a heavy scent behind after absorption into skin.
Both oils induced a light tingle that quickly transitioned into a warming, muscle relaxation. The thin-oil texture and use in massages made for some of the deepest penetrating muscle relaxation I’ve ever experienced in a topical, helping to relieve spinal pain from an old injury that cannabis usually won’t touch. The Oral Elixir had a light psychoactive aspect, inducing a fast-acting calming and slowing my train of thought, but the low dose kept me functional. Overall, the oils were an interesting use for cannabinoids that improved both my wife’s and my own experience.
