Review: The Lights Fantastic Infused Preroll Pack by Daze Off
Despite the proliferation of knowledge around THC and its limited effect, high THC numbers still sell. A large percentage of consumers shop by numbers, which may help explain the explosion of infused-preroll options. Daze Off has entered the category with the introduction of its Pot Rockets infused preroll line. I picked up The Light Fantastic Pot Rock Infused Preroll pack to review.
The Light Fantastic is a blend of Florida Oranges and Gelato Mintz. Daze Off Pot Rockets come as a 3-pack of half-gram prerolls infused with distillate and encrusted with kief. This batch of prerolls tested at 11.3% THCa, 29.24% Delta 9 THC, and 43.06% total cannabinoids. The indicated terpenes were β-caryophyllene, α-humulene, and limonene
Three short joints coated in coarse amber-brown kief, each just under two and a half inches rolled around the jar, with a noticeable amount of loose kief at the bottom. Outside of a small bit of empty paper at the end (that made a show on the way out with a big flare) each joint was well rolled. The kief coating helped to slow down and even out the burn with all three going down without issue.
The aroma inside the jar was sharp with notes of orange flesh, lime peel, mustard, dill, and vinegar. A balanced blend of pine and cedar cut through the tangy notes, providing a natural finish. Dry pulling provided a completely different tone, much more savory with notes of hot gas, leather, and fresh oregano
Once burning, the gas and leather notes were the heaviest with hints of orange appearing throughout and a finish of warm cedar. I enjoyed the fact that Daze Off avoided heavy flavors in the distillate as many cultivators do, opting for an inert infusion that let the flower flavor come through.
The Pot Rockets set to work before they were done burning, inducing a heavy-eyed stoned feeling and a tight headband. Warming sensations began cascading down from my crown. Overwhelmingly hazy during the first 10-minute phase but providing a calm and clear mental state after, this preroll shared the sharp peak and quick come down I’ve found in other distillate infused joints. The short lived but hard hitting character actually made these a good option for a midday break.
