Medical Cannabis Advisory Board sets June agenda

2

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), in conjunction with the Medical Cannabis Advisory Board (MCAB), released the June meeting agenda. MCAB is set to host its next meeting, which can be accessed here, from 3-5 p.m. Monday, June 10. The agenda includes discussions and votes regarding the last two proposed qualifying debilitating conditions, Uterine Fibroid and Generalized Anxiety.

In the May meeting, MCAB members re-voted to again recommend Endometriosis and Female Organismic Disorder and then voted to recommend Ovarian Cyst (or Painful Ovarian Cyst) as a new qualifying debilitating condition. Board members voted not to recommend Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome for inclusion. Members of the public are encouraged to register to use the 20-minutes public comment period for testimony. Each speaker may speak for up to three minutes. Persons who wish to register to speak may contact Janette Candido at Eva-Janette.Candido@Illinois.gov.

For each condition, there will be a period of discussion among Board members, followed by a public vote indicating regarding recommendation to the Director for addition of the proposed condition as a qualifying debilitating condition. Board members may vote for the recommendation, against the recommendation, or may abstain. MCAB has scheduled its July meeting for Monday, July 22, 2024, 3-5 p.m., or a meeting may be scheduled at the call of the Chair.
