Review: Gush Mints Vape Cart by Bloom
Bloom was one of the first brands to get products on to shelves as part of Illinois’ craft license expansion, and I’ve already explored several of Bloom’s disposable strain options. Recently, I had a chance to pick up a standard 510-threaded cart with the Gush Mints vape cart. News Joint Events is set to host Bloom as one of two-dozen craft brands offering samples at the Illinois Craft Showcase from 12-7 p.m. Sept. 7 at Molly’s Joint.
Bloom Gush Mints Vape Cart is a distillate-based oil infused with cannabis derived terpenes. This batch of oils tested at 0.2% CBD, 84.25% THC, and 90.32% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 6% of the total weight.
The Bloom vape hardware was a familiar metal coil/glass tank combo with an off white ceramic mouthpiece. The oil inside was a deeply colored honey amber with an unmoving thick viscosity at room temperature and a slow moving flow when heated. The thickness could lead to some clogging if the vape sat for a while but was easily remedied by the “preheat” setting on my battery.
The flavor carried a roasted herbal combination of dried thyme and parsley, pinesap, and a tangy-sour mustard note on the finish. The flavor was quite sticky for a vape cart with a hot cannabis note that lingered on the palate and in the air after a pen sesh.
Gush Mints is a heavy-indica strain, and the vape lived up to that expectation. Heavy pressure in my arms and head pulled at me, while a cloudiness began to build in my head. My energy level plummeted at the peak of the experience, and while relaxed and anxiety free, I was completely unable to focus. This dazed effect wore off quickly but left a grogginess behind that stuck with me for the next hour and a half.
