Review: Watermelon Spritz Gummies by Kiva
Nothing says summer more than produce growing in the garden. Flavors that correspond to the fruit growing in my backyard garner extra attention when searching for summer flavors. As such, I recently picked up from Sunnyside Champaign a tin of Kiva Camino Sours Watermelon Spritz Gummies for this review.
Kiva Camino Sours Watermelon Spritz Gummies come as a 10-pack of gummies with 10mg of THC per piece. The ingredients are tapioca syrup, sugar, water, pectin, natural flavor, citric acid, malic acid, sodium citrate, sodium malate, cannabis extract, fruit & vegetable juice for color, coconut oil, carnauba wax, and terpenes.
Translucent pink squares, roughly an inch across and a third-of-an-inch thick, carried a raised wave pattern at the top and an all over sprinkling of table sugar. The densely chewy gummies put up considerable resistance at first and then clung to the tooth once broken in with a moist but sticky interior.
The scent of artificial watermelon hit my nose as soon as I opened the can. The flavor was sweet on the top, carrying an artificial-watermelon opening note with the sour kick coming in halfway through and increasing in strength before providing a surprisingly clean finish. The sour punch was strong and exacerbated with the sour tone left on the finish.
After a half hour the gummies induced a mood boost and a reduction in anxiety, putting a smile on my face. My energy levels remained steady, but the anti-anxiety effect made it easier to focus on the task at hand. Light tingles flowed from my crown initially, blossoming into waves of euphoric sensations as the peak hit roughly an hour after eating. The back end of the experience was clear headed and calm. The anxiety reduction outlasted the mood lift and tingles, making the Sour Watermelon Spritz gummies a good choice for early in the day.
