Division of Cannabis Regulation registration processes transition to online
The Illinois Department of Agriculture’s Division of Cannabis Regulation announced that it has completed moving product and vehicle registrations to an online environment and that soon cannabis businesses will have the ability to renew licenses online. According to the press release, all previously registered products and vehicles have been added to the online portal but require cannabis businesses to make updates.
The Division of Cannabis Regulation listed the following bullet-points instructions to help the transition:
After logging into the portal, what immediate steps should cannabis business establishments take to ensure all registrations are complete?
• Review what product registrations are listed online to ensure all active products have their complete details reflected and current packaging and labeling images uploaded. If labeling or packaging is missing, it must be added immediately. Deactivate duplicate registrations as well as products that are no longer being produced. These steps must be completed before end of year. Failure to do so may result in your organization being found non-compliant or having incomplete registrations deactivated.
• Review what vehicle registrations are listed online to ensure all active vehicles have their complete details reflected and images uploaded. If details or images of the vehicle and vehicle features are missing, they must be added immediately. Deactivate any vehicles that are no longer active. These steps must be completed before end of year. Failure to do so may result in your organization being found non-compliant or having incomplete registrations deactivated.
• Continue to maintain all current information by utilizing the online registration update and deactivate options when necessary. Note that: New labeling and/or packaging should not be utilized for a product until your organization has received notice from the Department that the registration update has been completed.
• Any changes to what was previously reported for products and vehicles must be reported to the Department.
The Division of Cannabis Regulation also announced that licensed cannabis businesses soon will have the ability to renew licenses online. Businesses should monitor emails and visit the Division of Cannabis Regulation’s What’s Coming Next page to subscribe for more updates from the Department.
