Review: Bluenana Solventless Live Rosin Blunt by NGW
By Chris Barry
I recently picked up to review from Sunnyside Naperville Nature’s Grace and Wellness (NGW) Moonwalkers Bluenana Solventless Live Rosin Blunt. I’d been reluctant to go for a blunt. I’ve always been under the impression that blunts were mixed with tobacco, which I would typically avoid at all costs, but NGW declared upfront on the label that this blunt was tobacco free.
The 1g blunt was an indica-leaning cross of Blueberry and Banana. A good amount of live rosin appeared to be infused into the finely ground flower, giving it an added “oomph.” This blut tested in at 8.11 % THC, 36.82% THCa and 0.19% CBDa, and 46.71% total cannabinoids.
The blunt came in a glass doob tube that, when opened, departed a subtle aroma that was dominated by essence of chocolate mixed with a tone of Swisher Sweet. The cannabis and rosin mixture were tightly rolled with thick cigar-colored hemp wrap (also tobacco free), which added to the flavor when burning.
The only issue was that the flavor of the paper itself can seem to overpower the cannabis, so determining flavor was a challenge. Notes of earthy fruitiness, coffee, and cocoa came through and made for a pleasurable and mellow experience. Absolutely no canoeing occurred when lit up, and the burn was slow, making this an ideal smoke for a chill-out sesh that allowed for long moments of savoring and reflection.
Within two hits, I felt a head rush with a tightening band from my temples to my forehead, and then behind my eyes. The buss was a heady blast, immediately cerebral and creative with thoughts focusing on specific ‘topics’ for ease of discernment. Eventually, the headiness gave way to a euphoric onset that became more body-focused, with an overall ease settling in. Definitely not a day-tripper, this blunt was best enjoyed in the evening for a calm-state relaxation after a tough day at work.
