Review: Daywrecker by Binske – Illinois News Joint
One of the surprising ways to stand out on dispensary menus is to grow older genetics. Illinois-newcomer brand Binske employed this strategy with the label’s Daywrecker, a true old-school cut. I recently picked up to review an eighth of Daywrecker at Ascend Horizon Drive.
Daywrecker is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Mass Super Skunk, Northern Lights, and an unknown third strain. This batch of flower tested at 0.448% THC, 27.019% THCa, and 28.448% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 1.63% of the total weight with limonene, myrcene, and β-caryophyllene being the heaviest.

Long, spindly flowers displayed the kind of stretched structure that typically belongs to sativa genetics. Deep forest green with thick bunches of fire-orange hairs and a light dusting of trichomes that ranged from crystal clear to a foggy-milky white. The flowers broke down with a slightly powdery texture but smoked evenly and left a stickiness on my fingers when loaded or rolled.
The aroma inside the jar was a natural and complex blend of fresh cut sweet peppers, coriander, dill, hot diesel gas, and an intriguingly unique sour creamy yogurt tone at the finish. The flavor carried the same complexity with the same herbal blend of dill and coriander at the top of the inhale, a richer garlic tone at the center of the profile, followed by the spicy hot diesel for a tangy finish on the exhale.
Daywrecker induced a listless brain fog that decimated my motivation. My mood remained positive throughout the experience but my energy level remained on a downward slope, especially on the backend. Any body pain was completely erased and replaced with a positive warmth in my muscles that lasted for roughly half an hour. Daywrecker consistently induced a strong case of the munchies, even at small doses.
