Review: Fast Acting Nano and THCV Energy Gummies by Kanha
The list of brands in the Illinois cannabis space is expanding at a pace not seen since legalization, so it can be difficult to make a new product stand out from the crowd. That’s why it makes sense for craft-infuser Kanha enter the market with two novel-targeted gummies instead of a standard approach. I recently picked up both the Fast Acting Nano Passionfruit and THCV Energy Citrus gummies to review.
Both the Fast Acting Nano Passionfruit and THCV Energy Citrus gummies come as 10-packs of gummies. The Fast Acting Nano Passionfruit have 10mg of THC per piece and the THCV Energy Citrus have 10mg of THC and 10mg of THCV per gummy. The ingredients for the Fast Acting Nano Passionfruit are tapioca syrup, can sugar, water, gelatin, agar, locust bean gum, carnauba wax, citric acid, natural flavor, natural color, VESIsorb Nanotech, cannabis oil, and natural indica terpenes. The ingredients for the THCV Energy are tapioca syrup, cane sugar, water, gelatin, agar, locust bean gum, carnauba wax, citric acid, cannabis oil, natural flavor, green tea extract, natural fruit concentrate, natural color, VESISorb Nanotechnology, natural sativa terpenes.
Roughly the size of a penny in circumference and almost a quarter inch thick, the gummies were small enough that I could eat four or five at one time without a problem. Deep maroon and lime green for the Fast Acting Passionfruit and THCV Energy Citrus respectively, the gummies were encrusted in a layer of table sugar. Both flavors had a squishy bounce back and a fresh but not moist interior.
The THCV Energy Citrus provided a crisp sweet-artificial citrus note that was reminiscent of the soda Sprite. A hint of chemical bitterness was detectable right at the finish but mixed well into the sweet citrus, making it easy to miss when not exploring the full profile. The Fast Acting Nano Passionfruit provided a much less direct flavor of overripe berries with a hint of tropical leaning papaya at the top. There was no bitterness throughout the profile on the Fast Acting Nano.
I started to feel the effects from the Fast Acting Nano after only 15 minutes on an empty stomach. The full effect profile reached the peak by the half-hour mark. The Nano emulsification tech resulted in a high that was much closer to smoked than eaten cannabis with a heavy-brow and tight-headband effect being the first noticeable change. My mood shifted positively. I became much more talkative as the effects peaked, but as the physical effects shifted to an all-over pressure, I was left with a tired fog on the back end.
The THCV Energy unfolded over a longer time frame, finally reaching the peak after an hour of digestion. My anxiety disappeared as an open and clearheaded-mind space took hold, allowing me to focus on some deep work or choose to be playful and talkative. Overall, the THCV gummies helped me to “get out of my own way” mentally and only reinforced my bias towards the minor cannabinoid.
