Review: Fyre Hybrid Infused Preroll by Realeaf Botanicals
Since the opening of Illinois’ legal market, the preroll category has evolved significantly, with many companies now offering multipack and infused joints. Realeaf Botanicals has joined the fray, releasing infused prerolls as one of the brand’s debut products. I recently picked up the Fyre Hybrid Infused Preroll to review.
The Fyre Hybrid Infused Preroll is made from a blend of strains and infused with distillate. This preroll tested at 15.1% THCa, 20.35% THC, and 37.23% total cannabinoids.
A straight sided tube, the preroll measured two and three-quarters inches long, with two inches of flower and a paper crutch making up the rest. The flower inside was a mix of lime and dark forest green hues, with visible small, moist oil spots revealing the infusion. Tightly rolled, the preroll required a small amount of prework to break apart but burned evenly afterward.
A deep inhale from the tube paired with some dry pulls provided earthy and herbal notes reminiscent of sautéed mushrooms, dried thyme, dried tea, celery seed, and wild grass. The flavor itself was light, carrying through the same profile of thyme, celery, wild grass, and mushrooms. The flavor had very little depth and had almost no staying power on the palate.
The effects hit with a sharp sense of eye pressure and a tingling, racy body sensation, leaving me feeling talkative and energized for a brief period. Soon after, the initial surge quickly subsided into a hazy, cloudy state of awareness, accompanied by a heavy body load that lingered for about an hour. My energy and motivation dropped off entirely after the initial burst, giving way to a back-end couch lock, tiredness, and a general lack of drive.
