Review: Grand Master Sexy by Kaviar
A level of playfulness exists in cannabis that simply doesn’t in many other industries. From events to product names, it’s refreshing to see brands have fun with their businesses. Kaviar is no stranger to playfulness, releasing strains such as Blue Unicorn Poop. I recently stopped at Cloud9 Champaign and picked up an eighth of Grand Master Sexy to review.
Grand Master Sexy is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Scotty 2 Hotty and Oreoz. This batch of flower tested at 1.306% THC, 24.768% THCa, and 27.247% total cannabinoids.
Four equally sized flowers carried a consistent olive-green base coloring with thick bunches of wiry fire-orange hairs dotting the surfaces. The trichome frost had started to transition from solidly milky towards a honey amber, almost camouflaging it among the olive flower tone. The flowers were dense and tightly dried but still left a sticky tackiness on my fingertips and ground to light fluff.
A spicy, tangy top-end blend of hot diesel, pickles, soy sauce, leafy greens, sage, and lime zest hit my nose initially with a warmer blend of cacao nibs and roasting fat, creating the finish and tying the entire profile together. The flavor was dominated by the sharp notes of diesel, lime zest, and pickles. This sharp mix worked with the roasting fat notes to deliver a lingering finishing hit of sweet peppers and hot barbeque.
Grand Master Sexy is labeled as an indica but delivered a clear headed, open state of mind that allowed me to focus on work by “getting out of my own way” mentally. A tingling all-over buzz made me more aware of my body while relieving chronic pain points in my back. Despite the euphoric tingles and functional focus, my energy level remained steady, and I could use Grand Master Sexy any time of day.
