Review: Granddaddy Purple Diamond Pod by Rove
Despite becoming one of the largest legal cannabis markets by sales, Illinois is still lacking the depth of brand choice that many other states have. Rove is the latest brand to bridge the gap, coming to the state through a partnership with the CNS Harvest license. I recently had the opportunity to pick up a few of the new Rove products starting with the Granddaddy Purple Diamond Pod
The Rove Granddaddy Purple Pod is a distillate-based oil infused with botanically derived terpenes. This pod tested at 1% THCa, 92.8% THC, and 96.7% total cannabinoids.

Slender in the hand, the Rove battery was a similar size to many pod systems. The exterior was a rubberized soft plastic that sat comfortably in the palm, and the “Chi Edition” battery had a Chicago Bulls logo on the front. There was a small diamond-shaped window at the top for tracking oil levels, a Rove logo-shaped-indicator light near the center, and a USB-C charging port on the bottom. There were two power settings, changed by inserting and removing the pod three times quickly.
The flavor was clear and simple. A sweet artificial grape and berry blend coated the palate after each hit. There was zero staying power, and the flavor disappeared with the vapor making for a very discreet smoking experience.
Heavier than anticipated, a couple strong pulls on the Granddaddy Purple pod induced a cloudy headspace that brought my energy level down and killed my focus. The foggy awareness window was short lived, leaving a mental relaxation and feeling of tiredness after fifteen minutes. The physical aspect was longer lasting with a light but full body relaxation staying with me for an hour post vape.
