Review: London Pound Cake Sherbert Surf Disposable by BLOOM
London Pound Cake has been a personal favorite since I first sampled the strain years ago. I recently discovered BLOOM’s take on the creamy indica in the form of the London Pound Cake Sherbert Surf Disposable. I headed up to Parkway Dispensary and picked up one to sample. News Joint Events is set to host BLOOM as one of the more than two-dozen craft brands offering samples at the Illinois Craft Showcase from 12-7 p.m. Sept. 7. at Molly’s Joint.
BLOOM London Pound Cake Sherbert Surf Disposable is distillate oil with live-cannabis terpenes. This vape tested at 83.33% THC and 87.35% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 6% of the total weight.
The Surf disposable fit comfortably in my hand at just over three-inches tall and almost half-an-inch thick with a slightly thicker center that tapered off to the sides and a surfboard shape. The top quarter was a translucent black plastic, acting as both the mouthpiece and a window into the oil tank when held up to light. The rest was a beige plastic with a small indicator light activated when hitting and a forest-green BLOOM logo near the bottom. There was no charging port, buttons, or settings on the Surf and a simple hit to activate mechanism.
A touch of sweet cream and caramel at the very top was followed closely by a more savory blend of black pepper, thyme, dried basil, and wild grass. The savory finish was much more pronounced with longer hits, while shorter pulls accentuated the sweet top note. The flavor and exhaled vapor had almost no lingering effects, making this a good fit for consumers seeking a discrete option.
London Pound Cake Sherbert was slow building, initially offering a warming muscle relaxation that became an all-over weighted sensation at the peak. The mental shift shared the same crescendo effect, from a light mood boost to a hazy, slightly detached, state of mind. My focus took a dive for the duration, but my energy level never dropped off, leaving me playful and sociable. Overall, the Surf was a very accessible experience from hardware to vape, even if it only offered a small glimpse of the namesake strain.
