Review: SharksBreath 2.0 by DNA Genetics
Redemption Botanicals’ debut label, DNA Genetics, is ahead of the game by tapping into an established seed line. I’ve previously reviewed the brand’s DNA Cake. For this review, I picked up an eighth of SharksBreath 2.0.
SharksBreath 2.0 is an indica-leaning hybrid, a cross between Great White Shark and Jamaican Lambsbread. This batch of flower tested at 1.02% THC, 20.93% THCa, and 22.8% total cannabinoids.
One large, pointed cola was joined by two smaller, yet still substantial, flowers. The bright green surface was accented with purple streaks and thin rust-colored hairs extending from the buds. All three flowers had a conical, Christmas-tree shape, a dense coating of milky trichomes, and a squishy, Nerf-like bounce-back when squeezed.

Light notes of heavy cream, lime peel, and candied berries provided a hint of sweetness before a rich blend of black pepper, roasted meat, peanut butter, oregano, onion, diesel, and cedar dominated the body and finish of the aroma. On the palate, the lime peel and berry notes carried through more clearly, lingering longer than they did on the nose, but the warm blend of roasted meat, diesel, onion, and cedar still emerged on the finish. Incredibly sticky, both the sweet and savory layers of flavor remained detectable for several minutes after a bowl.
SharksBreath 2.0 provided a slow building but eventually heavy indica experience. Heavy eyelids and pressure at the crown were quickly followed by a playful, silly, and creative headspace that left me initially talkative. This pressure spread outward from my crown into a thick, heavy, tired sensation, weighing down my entire body. A wave of munchies followed the body buzz, sending me to make some regrettable dietary choices. The playful, creative boost from the initial high faded, leaving me in a spaced-out daze that lingered for the next hour. Overall, SharksBreath 2.0 was a densely flavored indica with a classic nightcap-style experience, making it best for the end of the day.
