Review: Sherb Pie by Cannect Wellness

71

While I love a wide range of cannabis products, there’s just something special about the flower experience. I’ve already sampled the secret sauce cartridges from new craft cultivator Cannect Wellness, but I’ve been waiting to get my hands on some of the labels flower before making my full judgment. I recently stopped into Stash Orland Hills and picked up an eighth of Sherb Pie to review.

Sherb Pie is a selected phenotype of Seed Junky’s Sherb Cake, a hybrid cross of Sunset Sherbet and Ice Cream Cake. This batch of flower tested at 1.677% THC, 26.075% THCa, and 28.386% total cannabinoids.

Six popcorn-sized buds with surface shades of olive and turf green carried dried royal-purple sugar-leaf remnants and a few curled in rust-colored hairs. The trichome frost was visible on the surface and had just started the transition from milky to amber. Displaying a textbook Nerf-football squish when pinched and leaving a greasy-hash feeling on my fingertips, the dry and cure was among the best on the Illinois market.

A rich layered blend of heavy cream, lemon and lime peel, sweet lavender, pine, hot diesel, and fresh berry greeted my nose as soon I popped the seal. The scent was dense, inviting repeated explorations and providing more depth each time. The flavor carried the same heavy character as the aroma with the cream, lavender, and berry tones working together to out-sweet and completely mask the diesel and pine. The flavor was sticky and clung to the palate for a long time post-exhale.

The Sherb Pie effect profile was just as heavy as the aroma inducing a relaxed and slowed down headspace free of worry but also free of motivation. The heavy physical presence compounded the tiring effects with a weighted pressure pushing on my arms, legs, and chest for an hour following a bowl. These strong sensations helped to push away most of my aches and pains as well. Sherb Pie was a good fit for an evening sesh or as a nightcap to help lull me to sleep, and the flavor kept me coming back for more.
