Review: S’mores Cookies by Cannect Wellness

0

One of my long-standing beliefs is that cannabis consumption is a seasonal affair. Now that the temperatures are cooling and leaves are falling, I’m shifting from fruit-heavy summer flavors to profiles more fit for autumn. Right on target is the new Cannect Wellness release, S’mores Cookies. I recently stopped at Consume Carbondale and picked up an eighth to review.

S’mores Cookies is a hybrid cross of Oreoz Bx1 and Oreoz Bx1. This batch of flower tested at 1.06% Delta 9 THC, 26.14% THCa, and 28.66% total cannabinoids. The indicated top terpenes were β-myrcene, limonene, β-pinene, and β-caryophyllene.

Four cola tops, all trimmed to a point, carried deep-black sugar-leaf remnants that had dried into purple flower to create some of the darkest base-colored buds I’ve encountered on the market. Thick bright-orange hairs and a dense ambered trichome layer brought a bright-golden tone to the overall visual profile. The interior of the bud was dense while the outer layer had a softer spongier bounceback.

The aroma in the jar was a rich blend of hot diesel, leather, roasting meat, graham cracker, and mushrooms with warm cinnamon and hints of licorice appearing at the finish. The flavor was more rounded on the palate with warm notes of buttery graham cracker, charred oak barrel, and cinnamon taking the lead. The mouthfeel was as rich as the flavor, coating the mouth and leaving a lingering cinnamon note after exhale.

S’mores Cookies crept up, initially providing a light euphoric tingle and positive mood pickup before turning towards a more intense pressure at my crown, eyes, and chest as the peak came on. The mental positivity worked to raise my energy levels and focus at the start, but the back end left my head a blank slate, unfocused, and unproductive. While the flavor wasn’t a reflection of the s’mores name, the strain delivered a rich flavor and relaxing indica buzz that worked well for end of day anxiety relief.
