Review: Sour Watermelon Lime Jellies by JAMS
While I’m chasing fruit-heavy sativas for my strain of the summer, I’m also looking for an edible to fit the season. I recently found JAMS Sour Watermelon Lime Jellies and figured the flavor fit the bill, so I picked up a pack from Curaleaf Skokie to review.
Jams Sour Watermelon Lime Jellies come as a 20-pack of gummies with 5mg of THC per piece for a total of 100mg of THC. The ingredients are tapioca syrup, sugar, water, natural flavors, pectin, tartaric acid, citric acid, sorbitol, sodium citrate, modified food starch, medium chain triglycerides, cannabis oil, salt, fruit and vegetable juice, and botanical terpenes.
Bright translucent-pink half domes, quarter-sized in circumference, were very moist with a visible liquid sheen and some stickiness when handled. The pectin-heavy gumdrop texture paired with the high moisture content made for a mouthfeel that was very similar to a piece of jelly.
A thick scent of sweet artificial-watermelon candy wafted from the bag the second I broke the seal. That punch of watermelon carried straight to the palate as the bright top note. The lime followed closely as a sharp-citric acid note that cut through the cloying sweetness of the watermelon. A low-level bitterness stuck to the palate throughout the experience, outlasting the rest of the profile and hinting at the cannabis infusion.
JAMS nano-emulsion technique had me feeling the effects fifteen minutes after dosing. A playful mood and a hazy awareness window joined a tight headband and heavy eyes. My energy continued to fall throughout the experience, and by the forty-five minute mark, I was feeling a strong physical couchlock pulling me down. The nano tech also made for a shorter high as I found myself returning to a normal headspace by the hour and a half mark. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
